Code of Conduct
The Polo Warriors Swim Team is committed to fostering a positive, safe, and encouraging environment where every swimmer has the opportunity to grow both in and out of the water. Every swimmer, parent, coach, volunteer, sibling, and guest plays an important role in creating the culture of our team.
Participation on the Polo Warriors Swim Team is a privilege. By registering, all families agree to uphold the expectations outlined below. These expectations apply at all practices, swim meets, team events, and any time a member is representing the Polo Warriors Swim Team.
Swimmer Expectations
Swimmers are expected to:
- Treat teammates, coaches, officials, volunteers, and competitors with kindness and respect.
- Demonstrate good sportsmanship in both victory and defeat.
- Arrive prepared, on time, and ready to give their best effort.
- Listen to coaches and maintain a positive attitude.
- Encourage teammates and celebrate each other's successes.
- Follow all pool and facility rules.
- Represent the Polo Warriors Swim Team with integrity both on and off the pool deck.
- Have fun while always putting forth their best effort.
Parent Expectations
Parents are expected to:
- Model good sportsmanship and respectful behavior.
- Support all swimmers, coaches, officials, volunteers, and families.
- Allow coaches to coach and officials to officiate.
- Encourage swimmers without coaching from the sidelines.
- Address concerns respectfully and privately with team leadership.
- Fulfill volunteer responsibilities as outlined in the Parent Policies.
- Help create a positive environment where every swimmer feels encouraged and supported.
Coach Expectations
Coaches are expected to:
- Provide a safe, positive, and encouraging learning environment.
- Treat every swimmer fairly and with respect.
- Prioritize swimmer safety above all else.
- Teach proper technique, teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
- Encourage effort, growth, and confidence while helping each swimmer reach their full potential.
- Lead by example through professionalism and integrity.
Team Expectations
Everyone representing the Polo Warriors Swim Team is expected to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects positively on the team, Swim Warriors, and our host facilities.
The following behaviors will not be tolerated:
- Disrespectful, abusive, or inappropriate language or behavior.
- Bullying, intimidation, harassment, or discrimination of any kind.
- Unsportsmanlike conduct toward swimmers, coaches, officials, volunteers, or spectators.
- Damage to pool facilities or personal property.
- Failure to follow pool or facility rules.
- Any illegal activity or behavior that reflects negatively on the Polo Warriors Swim Team.
Failure to comply with these expectations may result in disciplinary action, including suspension or dismissal from the team. Decisions made by Polo Warriors leadership regarding violations of this handbook and Code of Conduct are final. Refunds will not be issued for dismissals resulting from violations of team policies.
